Here are roughly two fairly successful restaurants. Seems that “success” does not always add up to Moola. After the expenses are paid there will not be enough left to pay 49 creditors… well, that is weird, why not almost 50 creditors? Could there be a “secret creditor?”

The companies filed for bankruptcy protection in the Eastern District of Texas. Their parent company — privately held Metromedia Restaurant Group — is based in Plano, Texas. In a Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing, a company seeks to liquidate its assets and shut down. In the filing, the company indicated that it has up to 49 creditors. It said it will have no funds left after administrative expenses are paid to repay its creditors. Neither Bennigan’s nor the Metromedia Restaurant Group returned calls for comment.

“It’s hard to ignore a metaphor when you’re standing right in the middle of it,” he said. “When you’re standing in a building that was once something and now is slowly fading into not being anything anymore, that’s a stark reminder about appreciating what you’ve got when you’ve got it.”
